Default to crazy weather

Ron, I am planning to start with hydro this coming spring because I lost everything last year due to crazy weather. My location is CA high desert, 2350' short springs and falls, long very hot summers. There is no local supply store for plant food etc. for hydro or most other things peculiar to hydro. Any suggestions on stock I should have before I start, any special precautions I need to take regards the weather here. Thanks for any help....JIM

You must be a hermit. Without supplies it would indeed be a peculiar hydro garden. A make-shift greenhouse made out of plastic and wood slats will save your plants from frost.
