Default Flood an Drain Shedule for Beans

Hello,

I've got a question concerning the times when to activate my pump in my flood and drain system.

My mesh pots contain ~0.4 L or 0.1 gallons of expanding clay and I'm trying to grow beans. The flooding takes about 15 min und the draining about 3-4 min. There information I found on the internet differ quite substantially. Some suggest that I should flood 3 times during the time the grow light are on. Others suggest I should flood every 45 min.

Which flooding schedule do you suggest? Which is a good beginners book on hydroponics?

Greetings

Stein

Here is a link to an article I wrote for my website that covers that question, as well as many other questions. "Tips for Growing Plants in Hydroponic Systems" But simply put, you simply just want to keep the roots from drying out.
