Was wondering if anyone has ever tried this. It's supposedly a new type of light out that gives you both 50% true red and 50% true blue and you can actually rotate the bulb depending on wether you want growth or flower. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=3201&item=4311170653&rd=1

Ron- I am new at hydroponic gardening and I am building your 11 plant system. Reseaching the internet I located a timer that can be set 15 min. on and 15 min. off. It costs approximately $15.00 at http://www.4hydroponics.com and is manufactured by a company called Grasslin. I have not had a chance to use it yet but is appears to be perfect for our systems. Thanks for your web site as it is the best hydroponic site on the web.

what is the system called when the plants are suspended above a water basin and the evaporation causes teh wayter to then drip on the plants. I recall doing this is highschool, but now i was wondering if within that system fish could live in the water basin, and edible plants such as lettuce or fruit bearing plants could grow in such an enviroment. thanks.

hi ron, great site, great info. i just aquired a couple waterfarm single units, they needed a couple of parts but i have them running. my question is what is the watering cycle or do they drip and gurgle constantly (that would be good, no timer!) oh yeah, i found some 3 liter soda bottles at the 99 cent store, thought i might try them with your 9 or 11 pot systems, bigger cap though, what do you think? thanks for your site and your input. nordskiesbro CA

Hi, you seem very helpfull with this stuff so I would like to ask you some questions. Is it possible to take a Cuting dip it in rooting Gel and grow roots in well filtered water with plant gravel and an air pump? The cuttings end would always be in the filtered water in gravel and in high humidity and low light. also What is the proper PH level for Hydroponics.. I have seen 5.8 - 6.8 Would it be better lower or higher here. Thanks

For people who want to place a screen around their 14 to 32 oz. solo cups, I have just purchased from Walmart, for $.32, Fanshion Knee Hi Sandalfoot that fits perfect around the cups. They are made from nylon and you get a pair in thefir little container. They appear to be absolutely perfect for this use.
