why not just throw a couple of airstones in the...
why not just throw a couple of airstones in the reservoir and turn it into a bubbler, you won't regret it ;) no pumps and you can run the airline from inside, one of mine is 20 meters without much...

2 sungolds and a cherry tom called red berry, yeah I have to fill it every that 20 gallon tote every 3 days when its hot but its not much of a problem as I have a larger tank at about 100 gallons...

I find thin walled (low pressure) pipes better...
I find thin walled (low pressure) pipes better anyway, expecially if adding a bulkhead/Thru-Hull fittings as when tightning it the pvc "flatterns" out and seals better, no need for loads of silicon...
