Prevent algae growth
Hello,
I'm new to hydroponics and have a few beginner questions. In the attached file you can see one of my mesh baskets with a bean plant. As you can see the clay doesn't reach the top of the mesh basket, which exposes the water to light causing algae growth. Shall I fill the mesh basket with clay and lift the plant up, so that the roots are just below the top of the clay. This would mean, that most of the roots are never exposed to water. Or shall I fill the mesh basket with clay without lifting the plant? This would mean that parts of the green stem are submerged in clay. Greetings Matthias |
