Is it really worth growing Tomatoes under lights? Anyway I would use a 250 watt
hps (
high pressure sodium), I think they are about 30,000 lumens and 400 watt about 50,000 lumens. The general rule is
metal halide for growth and HPS for flowering and fruiting, but if I was picking just one I would go with HPS. I personally wouldn't grow vegies under lights until
led technology gets better, a 90 watt LED setup is the equivalent to a 400 watt HPS/metal halide. Browse the cannabis forums as they are more into lights and hydroponics in general than us veggy growers ( i.e forum.grasscity.com )
