can I make a MH ballast into a HPS ballast

Hello everyone My ? is can you make a metal halide ballast into a high pressure sodium ballast by adding an igniter? I have one extra MH and was wondering if it is possible. Thank you Wade BTW i have learned a lot from the forum/keep up the good work.
