Growing sponge
I'm planning to put up some hydroponics system and I thought that I could use same kind of sponge. Before I have used also rockwool, but it has problem with scale.
Has anybody used growing sponges or foams? I found the growing sponge by Grow-Tech. I guess it was called Cellular Rooting Sponge or something. Has anybody experiences with it? |

There is something called "Oasis Rootcubes," It's actually a foam even though it looks like rockwool cubes. I have not tried it yet, but probably will thee next time I need some cubes. I am sure it's sold in large blocks also. I'm also not sure how you intend to use it (just for seedlings etc..), or what type of system/s your planing.
P.S. Do you have a link to the "growing sponge by Grow-Tech" (with prices)? |

I'll just put plants grow inside it at first and water it. Nothing special! I don't have some much possibilities at the moment. I thought maybe I I'll be able to grow in side it at least half a year. But that's the reason why I need some information about those sponges.
So if somebody has any experiences with growing sponges, please share. Grow-Tech homepage is Rapid hydration growing medium for Hydroponics; Grow-Tech and here is some information http://www.grow-tech.com/pdf/Grow-Tech-Products.pdf but not prices |

seesm it just makes it more complicated, why not just go with some grotan or even some gravel from a parking lot? i like re useable cheap stuff in my new green house were switching to good old fashion 3/8" rock. $15 dollars a cubic yard or free at the rivers edge.
