Will using a jiffy pellet to germinate my seeds and then placing pellet and seedling directly in lava rocks/perlite mix have any adverse effects on my system? (Aside from having some of the pellet material drain back into the nutrient tank)

You can cut the netting off the pellets and still wash the soil from the roots.
