Do i need to rinse the rocks off before i use them?

From gordo when using grow rocks do i need to rinse the rocks off before i use them? I noticed that they turn the water brown and leaves alot of sediment in my tank. Took your 11 site system and enlarged it to a 22 site found everything i needed right in my hometown except a timer. Keep up the good work.
