STERLING SILVER -TURQUOISE NAVAJO BRIDLE (Harry Morgan) Hitched Horsehair Rein:
$2500.00

STERLING SILVER / TURQUOISE NAVAJO BRIDLE - RING BIT - HITCHED HORSE HAIR REINS. This bridle I believe was made by the master Navajo Silversmith Harry Morgan. The leather on this bridle is old and had been used on a horse, so I have not taken it apart to look for a makers mark. That said, I have seen 3 other bridles ascribed to Harry Morgan, and the style of them is exact. There is one online which sold in a sale for $3,000 - and can be found with a Google search. It is a almost twin to this one - although this one has the awesome horse hair reins and ring bit to go with it. The other two were old sales, and I cannot get them to come up to post comparative photos. But I am confident this was made by Mr. Morgan.
Harry Morgan passed on in 2007. I have owned this bridle for many years ( long before he passed on ) and I believe this may be a earlier work by him. His other jewelry is highly collectable and increasing in value.
The silver on this, if one wanted to use it on a horse, would need to be re-mounted on new leather, but is stable to use for collector display.
