Item Description:I am pleased to offer this original Japanese army officers sword in Shin Guntomountings made by the well-known gendaitoswordsmith Toki Sukenobu from WorldWar 2. The blade and the fittings are in Excellentcondition. It is a healthy sword and has a blade length of 24 inches (61cm).The hada is a well-implemented and tight ko-itamehada. The sword shows a Bizen-style chojihamon that is present the length of the blade through the kissaki where it endsin a maru boshi. There are activitieslike sunagashi and dense nie hotsure in and around the hamon.

The blade is signed Sukenobu.This looks to be Toki Sukenobu whowas a Rikugun Jumei Tosho known for making high grade gendaito.

The blade comes in original Samurai style mountings. They are in Excellent condition. Thetsuka has a silk ito wrapping with a little fraying. A blue and browncompany grade officers tassel is attached to the tsuka. It is in excellentcondition. The tsuba is iron kaku withtwo seppas. The saya (scabbard) is leather covered wood. The leather is suppleand well-aged, retaining roughly 90-95%original finish. The blade is in Excellentcondition. It shows no nicks, scattered spots of spider rust, and somescratches along its length. There do not appear to be any major flaws likehagire. I think this sword would be an excellent addition for acollector of WW2 militaria or Japanese swords.
