BEAUTIFUL ANTIQUE LARGE STEIFF BEAR
BUTTON IN EAR 1940\'s -1950\'s \'MIRAGE\' LARGE ANTIQUE GERMAN STEIFF BEAR
\'Mirage\' is an outstanding example of an antique German Steiff large bear from the late 1940s -early 1950\'s. A large bear standing at 20\"(50cm), she is in very good original condition and is a very talkative bear with her working tilt growler. She has stunning pretty almost honey coloured frosted caramel mohair fur we have had a few bears over the years in this colour many have had USA zones on them. This bear does not have one now he may have done and its been removed. She would be classed as a \'caramel\' coloured mohair but as you can see from the photos she is lighter - partly age lightened mellowed as happens with antique bears, and the mohair just seems a little more that honey shade of caramel. hard to describe she is quite unique now and just a very special bear and as the fur is so frosted it helps give this dazzling appearance.
She seems almost silvery - white in some lights with a honey background unusual and just gorgeous to look at. Her felt pads are excellent condition with no holes in them. She has glass eyes, a long muzzle, you can see and feel the hump on her back, original stitched claws, nose and mouth. lovely wide head with a really expressive gentle face. Her mohair coverage is really good one of the best Steiff bears of the time we have seen for some time. She has a large raised script in thin lettering steiff button in ear, she is very clean from a non smoking home and past, highly recommended.

I wrap very carefully and ship items boxed with appropriate packaging materials* We am keen on recycling to help save the huge waste in wrapping materials so we pack with pre-used boxes and packaging in many cases - if you have a problem with this please let us know. We usually post twice a week. ie: within two working days of receipt of cleared payment. Please allow for this time frame For Insurance/Customs declarations and shipping documentation, we always declare the full value of the shipment. Please do not ask us to misrepresent an items value.
