\"SCARCE\" Civil War MANNS\'S PATENT Cartridge Box reissued June 7, 1864. The front is embossed with the \"US\" letters and with the manufacturer\'s name \"E Gaylord Maker Chicopee, Mass\". The inner mechanism is fully functional as shown in the images. The leather is supple and soft, it shows normal us and wear, a few stiches have separated on the right top of the flap where it connects to the body of the box. The leather strap in the back that was used to buckle to the shoulder brace system is broken off and missing. A rare opportunity to own this scarce cartridge box. Shipping $12.00
