Set of 25 antique 17th-century Dutch Delft tiles in blue with war ships or tall ships that carried cargo for theVOC(Dutch East India Company). Handmade in the city of Harlingen, Holland c1650.Mid-16thcentury red tegel clay and kwaart glaze.Corner ox-head motif.Dimensions: 12.9mm L x 12.9mm H x 1.0 cm WHolland exportbackstamp as tiles were imported c1960s for faithful restoration of New England historic landmark and recently removed professionally. Not sure if the tiles were restored or reglazed in Holland prior to import.Condition: Excellent. Minor crazing and flaking to edges, some plaster and wallpaper residue on backs. One tile is cracked through center and one lost an 1\" end piece during professional removal from fireplace mantle. No soot or staining as fireplace was decorative.
