Here is a Very Old Hide Covered Trunk or Lock box with a leather fringe and tack. This is about the size of a Lock box that might\'ve traveled on a Stagecoach or Wagon. Has decorative tack buttons as well as the fur hide on outside of box. Inside has old paper lining that has some brown discoloration spots.

Retains the Original Label inside which is marked Shelton Cheever manufacturers of Riding Saddles and bridles, House Store and Traveling Trunks, Bags Valises, Fire Buckets, Engine Hose, Gig and Twig Whips, Coach Chaise and Draft Collars, Hobby Horses, Harnesses, etc..

Trunk dates to the mid 1800\'s (1840\'s - 50\'s). 

It measures 16\" x 10 1/2\" and 9\" tall. There is a piece of wood that has split off the inside of the rim of the trunk, as shown in last picture. Otherwise it is a Great Example of an Old Traveling Trunk w Original Label with just general wear from something that is 180+ yrs old.
