1874 Great Doulton Lambeth Blue & Brown Ewer / Pitcher by Arthur Barlow

Presented is a lovely Doulton Lambeth stoneware ewer or pitcher. This piece dates to 1874 and is signed by Arthur Barlow. The pitcher features a beautiful design of scrolling foliage in deep cobalt blue, against a brown background. Around the neck of the pitcher are little raised floral medallions in white, for a nice element of texture. The pitcher is done in a lovely classical form, somewhat Greek in style.

The pitcher is marked on the underside with the Doulton Lambeth mark, the initials for Arthur Barlow, the date 1874, and other marks likely indicating further artists and decorators.

This piece is in great condition. There are no breaks, no chips, no cracks, and no repairs.

The pitcher stands about 6 5/8 inches tall.
