I\'m listing an eclectic assortment of mechanical, technological and musical antiques, and I suspect there will be something to interest just about everyone.Here\'s a hard-to-find Columbia 6\" Twentieth Century cylinder recording. Columbia\'s Twentieth Century cylinders were made specifically for Columbia Graphophones equipped with extended length mandrels (such as the BF and BG). The cylinders played for a minute longer than conventional cylinders, but they\'re in short supply today, primarily due to their tendency to mold and/or break (they\'re made of black wax, not celluloid). Condition of this cylinder is good overall, with some scattered areas of mild discoloration but not much mold. There\'s groove wear and related groove noise evident throughout the entirety of playing surface, and a small chip that intrudes on the first few seconds of play (see photos). No other cracks, though, and no repairs. Canister is in excellent condition, as you can see, although the number on the top does not match the number on the cylinder..sale participants with limited response history (ie, less than 5), or with hidden response, should contact me before placing a offer.
