On the logo the Artist scratched what looks to be waves accross the blue waves it was definitely a intentional mark,

that area does not touch the table at all for any accidental surface scratching to happen over this logo.

Here is my answer for the question on those tiny little scratches to a customer that asked today:

Hi,, Thank you for asking the series of scratches: go from the start of the letter .A in DenmArk downward to the right side of the number 7. So these scratches are more in the middle of the waves. If you right click on the small picture you can then use s zoom feature for a better look. I could not find any reason for this being a second for any reason other than those tiny scratches its a beautiful piece looks like its heading to my mantle I really like it. I do hope it finds a good home for the holidays, awesome gift.
