BP9108 Bazaar Patterns Reproduction of a 1915 World War I Era
Yoked Skirt Pattern withPleats.
Waist24 inches, Hips up to 42 inches.
This is a Bazaar Patterns copy of an original 1915 magazine pattern reproduced in its original vintage size (waist 24 inches, hips 42 inches). It is typical of the newer, ankle-length skirts of 1915-16, during the early years of World War I, with 4 flared gores, a deep hip yoke and pairs of tailored-looking pleats on either side, front and back. Shorter, fuller skirts were more practical for the wartime woman than the narrow, hobble skirts of the Titanic era just before the war. Goes beautifully with the 1915 Peplum Jacket Pattern listed separately. (See our other items).
This classic skirt pattern would make a smart suit paired with the 1915 jacket or a practical walking skirt on its own. Very Downton Abbey! Perfect for the modern vintage wardrobe too, for those who like their skirts a little longer.
PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS LISTING IS FOR A PATTERN AND NOT FOR A GARMENT.
Bazaar Patterns are meticulously traced from rare, antique patterns and are reproduced “warts and all” along with their original instructions and illustrations. These are augmented with some additional notes, but still retain the period fit, markings and vintage charm of the originals. They are not multi-sized (only the size mentioned is available) and they do not fit like modern patterns. Some have very limited instructions with no illustrations, while others have well illustrated step-by-step instructions, depending on the original vintage pattern.
