1924 Eureka Sport 24 Pedal Car Voiture Pedale Tretauto Amilcar:
$5995.00

This 1924 Eureka Sport 24 pedal car, voiture pedale, tretauto, Amilcar, is in mostly original condition. Eureka started to make pedal cars in 1922. The 1st model car, an Eureka Sport 22, are never seen, roughly 500 of those cars were made. This 3rdyear model pedal car, the Sport 24 was made for4 years (1924-27). This car was built without the fenders, making it affordable to more people. This model also has the unique, ratchet type of pedalmechanics. The drive mechanics on these early cars, were a ratchet gear type of drive system. Spring pressure would hold the 2 gears together on each side of the rear axle, allowing the car to move forward, when you moved the pedal rods. When you pull back on the brake level, a little bit, it would separate the gears and allow the car to free wheel down the hills. When you pulled the break level all the way back, it would engage rear brake and stop the pedal car.Look at the pictures, this car has front and back spring suspensions, the cushionedseat is adjustable, the hood or bonnet can be removed to install batteries in the wooden battery box. The headlights (working) are turned on, by a lever in the middle of the steering wheel. This pedal is in 80% original condition. When I acquired the pedal car, it was missing the front grille & radiator assembly, including the battery box. I made the replacement grille and radiator assembly from original templates I had on hand.I was able to save, part of the original rear gear assembly. When I had thereplacement (opposite) gear made, I did not cut the teeth into the gear, out of fear of destroying the remaining original gear. I also had to replace the steering wheel mounting bracket, hood ornament and part of the front support frame. All the metal and seat retain their original paint and padded seat.Oversea\'s buyers, NOTE:Shipping cost is added to the purchase price of the pedal car, when your country adds their VAT Tax, Duty Tax and or Brokerage Fee\'s.
