One of the most beatifully constructed early radios! The cabinet is solid mahogany, and you can see the quality in the wiring, tube sockets, transformers and controls! These radios cost $180 in 1925 ... Very expensive and very well made. Stromberg was an early adopter of the Neutrodyne circuit and the 1-A and 1-B sets were likely the best sets of their kind produced.

This is a very nice example ... The panel and chassis are in excellent condition ... very clean and totally original. It even still retains the original paper inside the lid. Both of the audio transformers are original Stromberg-Carlson types and both are still good. The set is supposed to be working [I have not verified that however]. About the only thing that can go wrong with early battery sets would be the audio transformers so it\'s likely that with five good O1A tubes and a power supply [several types are available on-line] .. The set should fire right up. I\'ve tried to shoot lots of pictures to show the condition clearly. The cabinet has some light wear to the finish and some typical varnish bubbles from old age but overall looks great. The \"C\" battery attached to the bottom of the set is factory original and connects to two wires on the chassis.
