Travel back intime with this vintage clarinet. Made by Pedler (which I believe was a wing of Conn at the time) in Elkhart, Indiana, likely sometime in the late 1930s. It\'s a Hoosier metal clarinet. From the Jazzkjeld Typepad blog, my understanding is that it is an German Albert system clarinet. All the keyworks and springs work. All the pads are present (but are likely very old). Cosmetically, it\'s actually in quite good condition with minimal wear.As I\'m a guitarist and pianist, I have not played it, but it does seem to be in playing condition (though likely would benefit with new pads in the near future). The case is functional, but quite worn on the inside. Some of the inside case blue velvet is missing and parts of the case interior are loose. Still, the case has done a superb job of protecting the clarinet all these decades. There is no mouthpiece or ligature. From its length (22-5/8\" without mouthpiece), I believe, but am not certain, it\'s a high pitch Bb clarinet, right? As you likely know if you\'ve gotten this far, metal clarinets have a reputation for volume and are kind of associated with outdoor playing.
