1941 John Deere B electric start restored:
$3500.00

This is a 1941 John Deere B with a later B engine block with the 4 11/16 cylinder bore and many updated parts. Nicely restored with attention to detail and historical accuracy. Many new old stock OEM John Deere parts some of which took years to find. Serial number 120619 which makes it a 1941. I do not have the original serial tag as it was badly damaged, I had a new one made but it\'s not installed. Sandblasted and painted with 3 coats of John Deere classic green paint. 4 new tires, rears the correct 11.2x38 size. Has the heavy cast iron wheel centers which give you 560lbs of weight for traction. Every nut, bolt, bushing, seal and gasket replaced, it doesn\'t leak any fluids. The axles were cut off when I got the tractor so I replaced them and replaced the axle seals and felts at the same time. Axle splines are rust free and wheels adjust in and out. Cylinder head skimmed 1/8\" and valves adjusted accordingly, new brass pushrod tubes, new head gasket, new piston rings, new manifold and heat treated studs with brass nuts that won\'t rust after they get hot, new exhaust pipe and straight pipe painted with high temp paint, new hot Magneto, professionally restored carb from Roberts. Gas tank has been lined and has a shutoff valve. This is an all fuel tractor so it has the second small gas tank, you could get an all fuel manifold and valve and run it on kerosene if you wanted. Electric start with new battery and cables, starts right up. I have the the sheet metal panels for the battery box which are not shown in the pictures. I will include a new set of starter brushes. Runs good and drives in all gears. I plowed with it last year. It has good power and will pull 2 plows. Transmission is perfect, new clutch discs, clutch is good and tight and snaps in and out as it should. Clutch lever has no play. Good oil pressure, new oil lines inside the crankcase, and I removed and cleaned the oil pump and screen. Has fresh oil and filter and transmission fluid. All new grease fittings, all bearings freshly greased. I added Powr-Trol hydraulics off a later tractor allowing use of a hydraulic cylinder with pioneer couplers. Just switch on the PTO, engage the clutch and you can raise and lower your implements. I also added a drawbar off a later B and had the drawbar shortened and a new pin hole drilled. Try to find a John Deere B without a worn drawbar. Drawbar has the correct quick release pin to change positions. It also has the optional float-ride seat which has a new shock absorber. All new gauges. Only thing it\'s missing is a generator, voltage regulator, belt and lights. I will include the correct generator bracket and light brackets. I can show you how to start and run it if you are not familiar with two cylinder John Deeres. Asking $3500 firm, I have almost that much in parts. Tires were $1000 alone. I am losing money on the restoration but need the room. You will not find a more mechanically sound tractor. I have had this thing completely apart and back together and the internal parts show very little wear for a tractor this age. I can help load onto your trailer any weekend. Weighs just under 4000lbs, the wheels are set at their narrowest position so it will fit on a 6ft wide trailer. Located in Grove City PA a short distance from I80. Prefer cash or certified check in person.
