These are gently used and show some evidence of wear and handling. The faux antler handles are in excellent condition. The box is not paper on wood like some lesser expensive sets I have seen. It is a beautiful wood,k though I am not sure what it might be.( I think it is Rosewood ) The box has a couple dings. I found these in my Grandma\'s collection of kitchen stuff and oiled the box lightly. It really is gorgeous. The steak knives are quite nice and very sharp.
