1956 RMS Carinthia menu - Cunard Lines - ocean liner cruise ship boat steamer

The \"RMS Carinthia\" was a luxury ocean liner operated by Cunard Line between 1956-1968; it operated trans-Atlantic and Around-the-World cruises and was one of the most modern ships of its day. Cunard sold the ship in 1968, and it went through various ownerships and name changes until it was scrapped in 2006.

For sale is a Breakfast Menu from the Carinthia, dated August 19, 1956. I do not know the destination of the cruise from which this menu comes, but it was one of the first cruises of the Carinthia.

The menu offers typical breakfast fare -- juices, fruit, cereals, waffle cakes, eggs, omelettes, bacon, beverages. But there also some items most normal human beingswould not eat for breakfast -- fillet of sea bass, grilled Yarmouth bloaters, saute of kidney, rolled ox tongue.

The menu measures appx 103/4 x6 3/4inches. It is in very good condition, even considering that it is now some 55+ years old. It has no writing or markings, no rips or tears. The only flaw I can identify is on the back page which is shown on thesecond scan; the menu was once glued into someone\'s album, and the glue marks show on that page. When the menu was removed from the album, the glued areas were NOT torn, and the glue residue does not show through on the menu on the front of the page.

This is a great collectible item which is reduced in price due to the flaw noted.
