made in west germany, Hofner 172 IIR electric guitar. these were only made for two years, 1962/1963, so it\'s one or the other.red vinyl body, super clean. there are a few spots where the white plastic binding is separated from the body but it is very tight and not moving.it\'s strictly cosmetic. the guitar is all original, and has 3 hofner humbuckers. electronics all work.the back of the neck is very smooth and has standard finish checking.unfortunately i do not have the whammy bar,but the contraption itself works, it will probably take a generic whammy with a little searching.the case is non-original , but it\'s a good one, a 60\'s hardshell case that probably is a Vox. very cool guitar, and not all that common.
