1963 Philips Plano B7X14A/01 with FM till 104 and great working reverbeo. TOP:
$315.00

This time I am selling one of the flat PLANO models of Philips.

The model is Philips B7X14A /01

The firstmodels of the B7X14A have 2lamps, en they do not have a lamp for the Philipslogo. If the B7X14Ahave no other lettering after the type number than it is a regular B7X14A/00 .

The latermodels B7X14A’s have an extra/01, so they call B7X14A/01. These have an extra lamp for the Philips logo8009D lamp.

The \"Plano\" models were ratherflat, wide models, usually having thespeakers on the sides.

They were a departure from the luxury models from the fifties, that weretall, impressive and bulky radios with front speakers. They are nice too..

Putting the speakers on the sides was a naturalthing to do for a radio with built-in speakers.

This model, the B7X14A/01, was a luxurymodel from around 1963.

Model: Capella-Reverbeo B7X14A (B 7 X 14 A)

Price in first year of sale 599 DMaround $300 now. But in 1963.

In Holland, FM stereo broadcast started in 1963 and Philips did notinclude the stereo decoders in regular models before that time, it was anoption.

This unit have a reverberation unit to get a more spatial sound.

This sound does impressive..you have the impression that you are in a Concert Hall.
This due a build in mecanical (springs) Reverberationunit

This is a luxury modelwith 10 tubes are ECC85, ECH81,EF89,EBF89, 2xEL84, ECC83, EAA91, EZ81 en EM80.

It has six pushbuttons for : On-Off / Phono / Long Wave / AM / Shortwaveand FM up to 104Mhz !

5 small pushbuttons at the top for the sound /reverbeo/parola/ and forMono /Stereo .

Two separate dails and pointers for AM or FM.

Two thumbwheels for Bass & Treble

It has a posh mahoganyveneered case with a thick, high-gloss varnish.
The gold and brown tuning dial must have looked impressive at the time in 1963,as it still is..when people visiting my home they are always impressed by thisradio;.

Wave bands Broadcast, Long Wave, Short Wave plus FM.AM(long-, medium- and short waves) and FM (VHF). GO, PO, OC et MF (ondeultra-courte, bande FM).

Bands MW 200m - 550m,

FM 87,5 MHz - 104 MHz,

LW 1150m - 2000m,

Every band is working great.

Power type and voltage Alternating Current supply (AC) / 110; 127;145; 165;220; 245

Dimensions (WHD) 710x 265 x 290 mm/ 28 x 10.4 x 11.4 inch

The both plastic cover on the sides are PERFECT.
Veryrare to find one in this condition ,especially a version with a 104mhz FM band, comes with American cord plug ready to plug in and enjoy.

A very nice radio in great condition, only some small, very small wearon the varnish as seen in the pict, all the rest is 100% original..and Worksgreat.
