1965 SONY CV-2000 TCV-2010 Videocorder 1st In Home Video Tape Recorder:
$749.99

Wow! Here\'s something I\'ve never seen before. This is a 1965 Sony TCV-2010 and it\'s considered the very first video tape recorder made for domestic home use. How cool is that? And I\'ve also got 3 video tapes and a take up reel that fit the machine that I\'m throwing in.

Check out this link to read a review of the unit from the November, 1965 issue of Popular Mechanics!

The unit costs a cool $1,000 when it came out in 1965. Billed as portable (as long as your strong enough to lug it around), it features a built in monitor along with a reel to reel tape deck for recording and playing back the video you captured with a video camera (no camera with this sale).
Unit is missing the power cord so it has not been tested. The cord should be simple enough to find, it\'s a type of edison plug. See the detail photo for the shape and size needed.
This particular unit looks to be in excellent exterior shape with just some very minimal age wear. I see no major issues with any of the technical end of things. Nothing that would indicate it does not work but, be advised you are buying this AS IS.
All knobs, buttons and switches are here and appear to function as they should. Monitor rises and reclines as it should. Play button engages the head to move forward when turned. Latches on the side function and hold. Cover can be removed and put back on via 3 hinges. There\'s an audio cord (I believe it\'s audio) included in the top section. I have not tested it)
Monitor cord does show a touch of fraying where it connects in back but that could be solved with a tiny amount of electrical tape. Otherwise theres just some minor scuffs and stains. There\'s a touch of surface rust on a metal support that holds the weight of the monitor when it reclines but it\'s nothing huge. There\'s also a tiny bit of the rubber missing on the side exterior, but again, not a huge deal. Finally some of the cushioning on the inside is a bit worn. The cover still fits snugly.
Two of the video tapes comes in the original containers. One looks never used while the Sony has a hand written note that appears to say \"boat show.\" The third reel is labeled as well indicating that something is recorded on it but I can\'t make out what it says.
Feel free to ask any questions or let me know if there\'s something you need more info on. I doubt I\'ll ever see another on of these again!
Unit measures 28 by 11.5 by 16.5 inches. Weight is approx 60 pounds
