vintage Aug., 1965 Wisconsin MAENLD 3 by 3 1/4 gasoline engine -- includes special Military spec plug and boot with mil spec Fairbanks Morse magneto -- rated at 6.05 hp continuous operation though sites list this as up to 9 hp, probably intermitently//3600 rpm -- was told this was going to be or was used as a pony engine on a larger Diesel Tractor by the family but they knew little more -- these were used on the Genset Electrical Generator units during the Vietnam War (from WWII onward), but I believe had numerous other applications --

not tested but has light to moderate wear--no oil in the engine block--it had some greasy spots on the exterior when found on a barn shelf-some dust and soiling remaining/plug gap is a little worn, as is the output shaft and this has been painted Caterpillar Tractor Yellow/some scratching on the bottom -- there is no gas tank or starting pulley/recoil starter included - it is missing one head bolt, two or three from the bottom oil pan, and the shroud bolts -- my guess this was lightly used, carefully drained, cleaned inside and out, and put on that shelf. for burning non leaded gas.AENL engines were rated at 9.2 hp at 3600 RPM, though you\"ll get
longer life if you don\"t run it that fast. An ex Wisconsin Motors employee once told me that 2800 RPM was \"Best\". Your engine has Timken roller
bearings, and an oil pump.If it hasn\"t been
changed, your engine will have a military radio
interference shielded magneto, shielded metallic

Valves and piston rings are still available from
NAPA auto parts. It should have a Zenith Carb,
#0-12235, 12236, 12375, or 12522, and the NAPA
carb kit # 2-1565 fits all of those numbers.\"
