In this lot we present a vintage US Army paratrooper division personal field gear pocket knifethat has been gifted to a French Jean Richel in 1980.The knife is massive with short wide single-edge blade.The blade has a faint engraved scenery of a cougar looking down at the edge of a cliff.The knife maker \"Western USA - S-532 - Pat.4040181\".The blade is marked with \"C\" which corresponds to 1979 year of manufacture.
The knife is housed in a leather belt sheath with engraved decorations and two badges of theUS Paratroopers division. The sheath is fitted with a knife-sharpener held on a leather strap.
The back of the sheath is engraved with commemorations. One reads \"Jean Richel ..... 15/12/1949\"and just below it \"Cadeaux sf Jean 1980\".
The sheath has significant wearing on the leather - cracks. The knife has spots and scratches.It`s an old US Army field gear, so wearing is expected. Please, review the photos.
