SERIOUS buyers ONLY PLEASE
This is a very RARE 1980 Alvarez Yair DY75 Herringbone flat top acoustic guitar - all original and in very good condition - with original brown-lined Alvarez hardshell case, built by Kazou Yairi. These Yairi guitars are killer bargains - absolute martinkillers - and this DY75 is no different. This Yairi features a solid spruce top, solid rosewood back and sides, mahogany neck, ebony board, and lovely Herringbone binding and inlay around the sound hole and along the neck. This is a very high end flattop in the spirit of a d28, and the workmanship is wonderful. She is has great tone and projection - and excellent articulation due to the rosewood and the ebony board. Frets are in good shape - and I would describe the action as medium. With a good setup and fresh Elixir medium light strings - the action can come down a bit, if desired. Condition-wise, I would say a 7.0 out of 10 due to scratches and light dings, no wear around the bottom of the sound hole from hard playing, but some divots to the frets from playing chords. A few dings on the back of the neck. Never use for gigs, but only played at home only. I am the original owner. It has been sitting around the closet for several years and now that I am moving, it\' time to offer it up for sale. It does come with the original Alvy molded hardshell case (it has some slight damage - see photos), This is a wonderful player and a truly beautiful and beautifully handmade instrument. Yairi instruments are very, very hard to find and no longer made. Yairi\'s were not standard production Alvarez guitars, but designed and built by Japan\'s best luthier Kazou Yairi. This is one of his best, basically a Martin d28. Reasonable offers will be seriously considered. Thanks for looking and if you decide to make a bit, best of luck! Also, if you\'re really interested in the DY75 please make an offer.....
One additional item there is a slight crack (see last photo) the crack does NOT go through the soundboard, it\'s SUPERFICIAL. Talked to my guitar repair man about it, he said it would be between 75.00 and 150.00 to repair.
Thanks for looking.
