For sale is a very unique find. It\'s a very late model 5¢ Mills 777 Hightop.
I know very little about these later Mills machines.
What makes it unique, for me, is the extra thick base needed to accommodate the deep payout bowl.
I\'ve not seen one like this before.
The reel strips appear to be original and in very nice shape. Based on the reel strips, it\'s also a 777 machine.
The mech seems to play fine.
If it lands on one cherry, it pays out 2 nickels. If it lands on two cherries, it pays out 5 nickels.
The cabinet has a club style handle. There are two holes in the top of the casting for a marque, that is missing. It has the original back door with an Ace lock. Someone has attached the key to the door with a short chain. The original cash box is missing, but there is a custom wood cash box. The inside of the cabinet has one fluorescent light in it. That\'s the only thing needing electricity and it will need rewiring and a new bulb. In my opinion, the base is ugly and needs redone. If I were to keep this machine, I would build another base, perhaps out of oak. You would have all kinds of opportunities there as the payout bowl is the only reason for the deep base. I thought about adding a secret drawer behind the payout bowl.
As you can see in the pictures, the award card is blank. I have no idea what it should be, but I\'m sure someone will be able to tell us what needs to go there.
