You are buying one reel of Quantegy/Ampex 456 Grand Master Studio Mastering Audio tape on a metal 10 1/2 inch reel with NAB hub. The tape is 1/2 inch wide (professional audio size). Tape has been stored in a studio environment. It has a production date of 1997 and is ready for your immediate use. This is the Industry standard Quantegy/Ampex 456 Professional width, not to be confused with the home audio (1/4 inch width) tape.The 10 1/2 inch metal reel contains 2500 feet of 1.5 mil thick polyester Quantegy/Ampex 456 Grand Mastering Audio Tape and is splice free. The box has some writing on the back and edge but is otherwise clean. All my tapes have professionally attached leader tapes so that the entire tape can be used for recording. The tape has been bulk erased and is ready for high-end reel to reel recording on your Tascam MSR16, Sony, Ampex or other professional high end reel to reel deck that uses 1/2 inch wide tape. Note that this tape is from the Ampex to Quantegy Transition period where the reel has the Ampex logo and the box refers to the tape as Quantegy (See photo). The date code is 97017 on both the reel and box.
