Here is an absolutely fabulous antique dark quartersawn oak slant drop front desk, with pull out drawer supports for the drop front desk and eleven clean drawers below the desk top, each with a fabulous old metal drop drawer pull, and within the desk topwith embossed green leather writing surface there are6 letter cubbies, 2 drawers and 2 cubbies with locking wood doors. When the drop front is open, this desk is also perfect for using a lap top of other electronic devices, while at the same time offering eleven extra bureau drawers for organizing whatever you need to store. This wonderful 19th century desk with bureau drawers was recently imported from the UK from Edinburgh, Scotland and was manufactured in England or Scotland in the late-1800\'s to early 1900\'s, and is in nice though age appropriate condition, as described above and shown in my detailed photo\'s, with basically only the character marks from it\'s loving use over the years one would expect in a piece this age and no major damage or other issues, but I have also included a number of clear photographs from all sides in an attempt to accurately represent the quality, construction and design of this wonderful piece.
This terrific desk stands 42 inches tall and measures 36 inches wide across it\'s widest point and 19 1/2 inches deep, front to back. The large sturdy top surface area of the desk when open measures 34 inches wide by 26 inches deep, with a writing surface height of 28 1/2 inches There are two large bureau drawers below, each 14 1/2 inches wide by 15 inches back to front and 3 1/4 inches deep. Below those two drawers are three rows of three drawers, with the two outside rows of drawers measuring 7 1/8 inches wide by 15 1/2 inches front to back by 3 3/4, 5 inches and 6 3/4 inches deep respectively and in descending order. The center drawers each measure 15 3/7 inches wide by 15 inches front to back and are also 3 3/4, 5 inches and 6 3/4 inches deep, respectively and in descending order.Again this marvelous old Scottish dark quartersawn oakslant drop front desk with bureau drawers has lovely carving around it\'s edging and feet and appears well loved and cared for and has all it\'s original drawer pulls as shown. This desk , made around 1900 and imported from the UK, is a terrific find in such lovely age appropriate condition with natural wear and what appears to be original finish - especially at such a wonderful discounted rock bottom price.
