Description:
This is a very nice exampleof an Ingraham Western Union Calendar wall regulator. This is actually the later version of this clock (Ingraham made two differentversions that changed slightly over the years).This is estate freshand is a clock thatdoes not often show up in thisvery nice condition.Theunsigned paper dial is an old replacement and was done very well on the original metal dial pan.
The original golden oak case has a beautiful aged patina. There is a small crack on the left side of the tail that is tight, and a very small, hard to see repair on the very tip on the right side of the tail (see photos).The Western Union label that is usually on the back is long gone, the bottom glass is original with lots of waves and bubbles and the upper glass isa very nice old replacement. I have seen this modelboth ways with clear glass on the bottom and with stenciling,but I do not believe this clock ever had any stenciling on the bottom.The door hook is original. The pendulum is original to the clock and the clock has the later \"fancy\" pendulum bob which has been painted to an antique gold color.
The original, 8 day, time only, movement is signed Ingraham. Themovement is in excellent condition,and has been keeping accurate time and date* (see below)butit has been sitting idle for a while, so itis due for a cleaning service. All three hands are original hands are excellent (calendar hand has some paint loss). A replacement key is included.
This is a very beautiful and very original clock and in excellent condition considering its age.They do not come along like this very often so don\'t miss your chance.
