Description:

We are very pleased to have this antique floor globe dating from 1935-1949 and marked \"Replogle Comprehensive Globe\" 16\" diameter with changes including Iran rather than Persia allowing us to date it post 1935 and Germany not being split into East and West which allows us to date it pre-1949. It stands about 32\" tall with fine wooden stand and the globe itself is NOT illuminated as we see by Replogle in the mid to later 20th century. The globe map is made of paper sections covering a plastic ball with the seams visible. As shown there is some wear to a couple of seams and a few spots as well as fading to the current green color. A terrific antique great for a collection or as a tool to discuss the changes in the world over the years. A fresh estate find!
