ANTIQUE Bauer/ Gibson Acoustic Guitar post war budget brands Very RARE flat top with Geib Schaefer Co case G&SUp for sale, I believe this is a very rare guitar made by Gibson for a budget brand co. It could be Sears & Roebuck, Montgomery Wards, a music store or trade catalog. Unfortunately, it is missing its bridge, but the piece of wood inside the guitar that the bridge goes into is there and still in tact. This guitar measures approx. 38 1/2\" long with the widest part at the bottom being approx. 14 3/4\". The top body is approx. 10 1/4\". The depth/thickness is approx. 4\".There are no cracks or breaks in this guitar. There are some minor scratches and scuffing. The peg head near the tuner is missing 4 metal eyelets. It is 12 fret, and is x braced inside. I believe the back and sides are made out of mahogany. I believe the front of the guitar is made of spruce and the neck of the guitar is rosewood.I believe this guitar was made between 1930 and 1933...? S.S. Stewart may have been partnered with Bauer who made instruments in PA. In the early 1900\'s, a NY based company B&J bought the S.S. Stewart name. I believe in 1930 B&J had Gibson make guitars but this relationship may have only lasted for 2-3 years. As far as the G&S case, it has 3 hinges. All 3 latches on the case have let go however, all 3 latches do latch. As you can see on the guitar case the handle is broken. It has a piece of rawhide wrapped around the guitar case, it is inside the case in the photos. The guitar case is approx. 40\" long. The middle part is approx. 12\" and the widest part is approx, 16\". The depth of the case is approx. 4 3/4\".We know this guitar is not a Bauer. It does not have the Gibson name on it. But the co B&J out of NY did contract Gibson to make guitars between 1930-1933. This guitar could be a one-of-a-kind, a prototype or very few made which makes this guitar very rare. I will leave it up to you to decide what is unknown.Buyer is responsible for shipping fees and insurance fees. Please message for shipping/insurance quote.Sold AS IS for parts or repair. Refer to photos. Please message with any questions. Happy offerding.
