This is an antique blacksmith disc roller, and is line shaft driven. The brand is J.I. Depew, from Loup City NE, and is stamped 15.this is just as i bought it 25 yars ago-it appears to be complete except there is no pulley for the belt. if you turn the shaft everything moves except the front bearing on the bottom roller --i am not going to force it
This piece would be an excellent addition to an historical museum, or for a private collector interested in preserving blacksmith history.
