I just love the face of the Kling China dolls. They have so much character and were painted by quality craftsman. This china is a tall girl - 22 inches. For reference see page # 192 of the 12 edition of Doll Values by Linda Edward and/or page 103 in Jan Foulke\'s Guide To Dolls. The mark on the shoulder plate of this doll is: \"Germany 189 (Bell) 9\". I love the china dolls that have marks. There are 2 paint chips off the back of the head and a roughness on the top of her head in the black curls. The facial painted is excellent with no scratches in the cheek painting. The facial expression is one of a very serene look.The leather boots are antique. However the body is newer and very firm. Maybe the china arms are new? She wears a cotton corset with lace on top; a matching cotton pantaloons with lace on bottom; and a long cotton slip with the same matching lace on the bottom.Her marooncoloredvelvet dress is lace trimmed at the neckline and the arms. The dress has been hand made and is vintage asare the underclothes.This is a beautiful doll that makes a stunning impression.From our home to yours.
