Antique Fancy Handle Cast Iron Griddle 8 with Gate Mark and Heat Ring and a mark \'1\' or \'I\' on the back side, presumablya maker\'s mark of some type. Great condition! No rust, chips, cracks or repairs. Sits flat, no wobbles. 8 embossed on the top side of the fancy handle. Milling marks still visible on cooking surface. Very, very minor stains and shallow pitting near the edge of the cooking surface. Lightweight iron as was the high quality iron of the late 19th C and early 20th C.Cleaned to bare iron with Lye bath, then electrolysis to clean off all previous users\' gook. Seasoned 5 x with Crisco at 450 degrees for 10 hours. This is a BEAUTIFUL piece of cooking history, at least 100 years old. Nice collector\'s item. Ready to display or use!
