~Meticulous & exquisitely hand carved details~

~ONE-OF-A-KIND hand carvings, we think this bench was commissioned for a household of wealthy academics due to the unique themes on the carvings~

~THREE UPPER PANELS, all gloriously carved with specialized “motifs”~

~Notice the “musical motif” with trumpets, mandolin, French horns and the “Aristocracy ‘motif’ with crossed blazing torches~

~Lower front panel has an “hunt” motif with crossed arrows and an archer’s bow surrounded by those quintessential French ribbon bowls and floral swags~

~Impressive all carved beveled edges, paneled and recessed carved sides~

This bench is in good condition for its age, SOLID oak, heavy & strong, with normal signs of age and use, dings, scratches, chips and other imperfections that are normal over the years.
