My mother received this dollhouse as a birthday gift from her parents when she was 8 years old. I would estimate this was in 1928. She treasured it all her life and referred to it as her little German dollhouse. I inherited it in 1990 and put it in a closet and pretty much forget about it. . I deceided recentlyto sell the doll house and noticed some damage to the roof. It appeared as if the roof had been removed and crudely reglued. A little girl(now 36) who had borrowed the doll house confessed that the roof came off as she was carrying it home from school and she repaired it herself and didn\'t tell me.               That is the history of this dollhouse as far as I know. The dimensions are approx 17\" high 19\" wide and 12\" deep.Both sides of the front  porch swing open and the windows have curtains and the walls appear to have wall paper The upstairs is one long room and it also has wall paper and curtains and floor covering. The dollhouse appears to me to have had some restoration done on it but I am in no way an expert on dollhouses. The paint appear pretty nice and I can see no evidence of earlier painting but the paint seems to nice to be 88 years old. I never heard of a Gottschalk doll house before. A local lady,who should know, said it looked like the one on page 518 in a Gottschalk catalog .She wanted to buy the dollhouse but died several years ago. I am including some furnishings that were in it. There is a stove, a bathtub,a rug and a metal mug. Please look at the pictures closely as there are issues with the roof coming off. There is evidence of a poorly glued roof with glue on the wallpaper in a few places and a crack in the back of the roof 8-10\" long. As far as being a Gottschalk dollhouse I am going by the lady collector who identified it as such..If you know how to check for sure let me know and I will make the appropriate changes in the add. Please be aware that the roof has come off, the front steps have been broken and repaired, and there probably has been restoration done on it.
