This plate honors the first emperor of a united Germany, Kaiser Wilhelm I (1797-1888), a peaceable man unlike his bellicose grandson, Wilhelm II. The plate is 9.75\" square. Sad to say, it is not in perfect condition, with a number of dings on the edges, and a flake off the bottom just in front of the Kaiser\'s nose.
