Here is a great piece for your buying consideration. Recently acquired it at an estate sale. Would make a great gift or keep it for yourself.

Here is a great older Harry Newcorn banjo for you. Newcorn of New York was actually the distributor. The banjo was most likely made by John Henry Buckbee for Newcorn, but I see no marking to that effect on the banjo. The banjo probably dates to the 1870s to 1890s period.

The banjo has a great looking neck on it. The frets are all in place as are all the inlay pieces. No cracks or repairs to the neck or scroll. The tuner pegs look appropriate to the banjo. The tuner peg for the 5th string is not with the banjo. Also, 2 of the bracket hooks are no longer with the banjo. The head is intact. The bridge is in place. The head looks intact. There is a 3\" hairline crack on either side of the wood rim where the neck is attached to the rest of the banjo with the wood wedged piece. The nickel plated finish on the metal part of the banjo around the head shows some finish loss.

The banjo is 34-5/8\" long, 11.25\" wide (11\" by head), by 2.5\" wide. This musical instrument is not represented to be in playing condition. There most likely will need to be refurbishing done to make this instrument playable again. Let us know if you have any questions or need additional pictures.

Returns Policy

• Returns are accepted by seller within 14 days of receipt of item by buyer, where an item is not as described. The Buyer will be assessed a $100 restocking fee should they decide to return this item for whatever the reason.
