For Sale is an Antique Large Cast Bronze \"Signal Gong\"/Bell - Firehouse, Boxing, Alarm, School!
This is an impressive piece in its materials, its size, its design and its sound!
The gong on this bell is a solid piece of cast bronze. The wall plate is cast iron with three (3) mounting holes for screws to secure it to the wall and has the the visible words, \"Signal Gong,\" cast within. The pull mechanism is made of a brass plate, a spring steel spring, and a cast iron hammer with the original wood hammer head.
The gong is very unusual in that it is solid with no holes in it for securing it to the hammer release mechanism as almost all other gong/bells of this size. Instead the gong was cast with female threading which attaches to the wall mounted bracket by threading onto a male threaded post. This creates a very clean look!
The bronze gong alone on this item measures: 10\"in Diameter; and 2-3/4\"Deep.
The over all item including the backplate measure: 10\"Wide;12\"Tall; and 3-3/4\"Deep.
