Here is a stunning quality pair of antique French walnut Fauteuil tapestrycarved armchairs (circa 1870) from the 2nd Empire period. The chairs areconstructed of solid walnut and feature high shaped backs, straight fronts andcarved bobbin turned legs, which are connected with turned shapedstretchers. The armchairs feature downswept arms, which terminate in scroll ends carved with acanthus leaves. The chairs have been newly upholstered in topquality hardwearing ivory colour chenille fabric, with a subtle diamond pattern,finished with ivory braiding. The undersidesof the chairs have been recovered with traditional hessian material. The sprung seats are extremely comfortable tosit on; they do not sag.

Thesechairs are in excellent condition. The chairs have been newly upholstered in top quality hardwearing ivory colour chenille fabric and finished with ivorybraiding; therefore the upholstery is in excellent & clean condition. The undersides of the chairs have beenrecently recovered with traditional hessian material. The sprung seats are extremely comfortable tosit on; they do not sag. There is no damage or breaks tothe back or legs; nor any lose movements to the arms. The frames and arms are in excellentcondition. The chairs sit firm on theground and do not wobble. These chairsare well constructed, solid in joint and ready to use.
