ANTIQUE TYCOS POCKET BAROMETER ALTIMETER

This is a late 19th century aneroid barometer altimeter used by early travelers and explorers.

The barometer scale goes from 23-31 inches and the altimeter scale ranges from zero to 8000 feet adjusted by a bezel.

The body of the device is made from gilded brass. The device comes in original leather pouch. The pouch has some wear and tear, please check out the relevant photos.

The device was made by the well known British scientific instruments maker Short Mason. The device still showing differences in the barometric pressure and altitude variation.

The dimensions of the barometer case are: 51mm diameter and 17mm height. The leather pouch size is 90 mm x 60 mm x 22mm.
