Since these old schoolhouse writing slates are no longer practical to use as originally intended, they now serve nicely askitchen message boards or as toy writing tablets for children.This onemeasures 10-1/2\" long x 7-3/4\" wide.

Both the frame and the slate are in good used condition. The slateshows light scratches, and there is wear on the wood frame consistent with handling over theyears. The frame has the initials M B S carved into one long side.

The pictures show both sides of the slate. The box of chalk is not as old as the framed slate, but is included in this sale.

An nice example of anold well-usedslate that is still in usable condition.
