This is an amazing and very realistic looking miniature wooden hippopotamus. He is carved out of wood and hand painted. Fantastic detailing with the wide open mouth and curved tail. The hippo is not attached to the black wooden stand but it is a nice platform for displaying the piece. Item came with a lot of other animals that are stamped Japan. There may be a stamp or something on inside of back leg but it is very difficult to discern, even with a magnifying lens. Hippo is only 1.5\" in length, stands not quite an inch tall and is almost half an inch wide. Platform is roughly 1\" by 2.5\". Fantastic condition. Feel free to email with questions.
